Ready for the future, ready for the world about to come
November is gonna be awesome you guys. It is shaping up to be the best month in a year which has already boasted some pretty great months. February, for example. Also, March. But November has the potential to top them all. Not only will I only go to work 13 out of 30 days due to a combination of vacations, weekends and Thanksgivings, but the month is jam-packed with awesome happenings.
On the 2nd: Daily Savings Time will end, giving us all a well-deserved extra hour of sleep.
On the 4th: I will get to vote for Barack Obama, thus helping him carry Pennsylvania on his way to an Electoral College blowout.
On the 5th: I will enjoy the first of six straight days of not going to work.
On the 7th: I will kick off a weekend in which I'll go to THREE Mountain Goats shows and get to see cool people like
audesapere and
docacula again.
On the 9th: The 2008 World Series of Poker main event final table will begin.
One the 10th: David "Chino" Rheem will overcome eight people I've never heard of to capture the WSOP main event bracelet.
One the 11th: ESPN will televise this so that I can see it, having spent the previous two days avoiding spoilers.
On the 15th: Brock Lesnar will defeat Randy Couture to capture the UFC Heavyweight Championship.
On the 17th: Despite the fact that it will be a Monday, I will not go to work.
On the 26th: I will probably get out of work early to kick off Thanksgiving weekend.
On the 27th: Thanksgiving! I don't know what I'll be doing but I know it won't involve going to work.
All this plus 30 days of fast and furious Mets hot stove action! It's almost too much for one month to handle.
